Here’s what Tim Finchem, PGA TOUR Commissioner said about the Saturday Series Pro-Am:
"As we move into the 21 st century, the PGA TOUR is fully committed to bringing the exciting game of golf to as many people as possible. We believe that the Saturday Series Pro-Am will help us achieve this goal. Amateurs who participate in the Saturday Series Pro-Am will be able to experience, firsthand, the greatness of our players. Relationships will be forged that will last a lifetime.
In addition, the Saturday Series Pro-Am will benefit many worthy charitable causes. Hallberg Golf Productions has made a special commitment to donate a large percentage of their end-of-year profits to charity.
I have been particularly impressed with the professional approach that Gary Hallberg and his team have taken in dealing with our tournament organizations and with PGA TOUR personnel. From the very beginning, the Saturday Series Pro-Am has been a first-class operation. Because of their continued emphasis on quality, we are very willing to endorse their efforts. The PGA TOUR very strongly supports the Saturday Series Pro-Am. It is a winning combination that includes the players, the tournaments and charity."
The Saturday Series Pro-Am features pros who participated in the week's PGA TOUR event but did not qualify for the final two rounds. Saturday Series Pro-Am events are being played throughout the PGA TOUR, USGA Championship, and Nationwide Tour schedules at first-class courses near the tournament venue.
Proceeds from the Saturday Series Pro-Am benefit charities throughout North America. Hallberg Golf Productions, which produces the Saturday Series Pro-Am, in partnership with participating TOUR events, has raised $2.4 million for the many benefiting charities.
Created by PGA TOUR veteran Gary Hallberg, the Saturday Series Pro-Am is a favorite among amateurs for several reasons. The tournament field is limited to a maximum of 88 amateurs and 22 PGA TOUR pros to insure an intimate atmosphere and increase pace-of-play. PGA TOUR players are involved in all of the day's activities and each amateur team gets to play nine holes each with two different professionals, not just one.
The TOUR players who have played with us have over 250 wins on TOUR, and over 100 of those TOUR players have one or more TOUR wins. For a complete list of the TOUR professionals who have played with us please utilize the link below:
